A meeting at Pickwick Gardens

A celebration luncheon, but sad too….. The meeting of the Los Angeles Grassroots Army Advisory Council was held last Friday at the beautiful Pickwick Gardens in Burbank. Sharing the spotlight was LTC Robert Blankenship who has led the Los Angeles Army Recruiting Batallion for two years, and now is heading back to Kentucky with a new assignment.

At luncheon with Thomas E. Hanson, Commander Region XIV, The Military Order of World Wars who is a member of the LA Grassroots Army Advisory Council

On board for the next several years is LTC Joseph “Scott” Peterson who will officially take the reins on Friday, July 20th at the Change of Command ceremony at the Gene Autry National Center. Los Angeles Councilman
Dennis Zine officiated at the meeting. ( BTW Zine is on the ballot this
fall  for City Controller.)
As always, the goal of the Council members is to successfully open doors so the recruiters are welcome on school campuses and other venues where they can tell the Army story.  Hooah!

This blog post wouldn’t be complete without showing some shots of the beautiful grounds at Pickwick Gardens.
